Tips for getting the best possible selling price on a home

Once you have selected your home and are preparing to make an offer on that home always try to:

Make it an all cash transaction with no financing contingency if you can.

Put down a sizable escrow deposit upfront (it’s held for you securely until you close) and it will let the seller know you mean business. Sellers don’t want to lose a serious buyer!

Set the closing date within a 30 day period and eliminate as many other contingencies in the contract as you can. The simpler the deal for the seller, the more the seller will compromise on price.

Hopefully you selected an aggressive Realtor to represent you who is experienced in contract negotiations. You want to aggressively negotiate a home purchase, not just submit an offer on paper and wait.
